EDIT: Also, if you are on the east coast already or near New York, I would highly recommend (if you can) just making the trip down to the Washington DC embassy because the one in New York is absolutely nuts. The people there are a little bit more rude and much more busy. The only thing is, the one in DC is only open Mondays-Thursdays from 9am-1pm.

Try doing a bit of research.

It’s YOUR project, right? Aren’t YOU supposed to find the information, not ask for the information to be handed to you by strangers?

Here is how you do a search: 1) you look for the SEARCH WINDOW on your browser.
2) Type "Houses, Spain, images"
3) CLICK SEND or search or whatever…usually, just clicking the enter key on the keyboard will do it.
4) look at the images.

For US houses….put US where you put Spain in the search.

I already know the Lord’s Prayer in spanish, and que la paz sea contigo, but what other phrases should I know that are common?

Like in English there is a section where the priest lists several things to pray for, and in English we say "Lord hear our prayer". I don’t know that in Spanish.

The differences are minimal. You would adjust.

I imagine, it’s fairly difficult to find a Peninsular spanish course in your area at all, since most of the teachers would have learned Mexican.

Actually, it’s not classified as Spanish from Mexico, but as Spanish from Latin America.

Think of it this way…English from England? or from the US? Mutually understandable. Minor differences, mostly in slang and accent. Couple of grammatical things. LOTS of regional differences within those two major classifications.

Same thing.

For your English class, generally, you will be expected to process information faster than in a normal class (should be okay for you because if you’re in an honors class, then it seems you already do). Another thing you will be expected to do is to do more analysis than in a normal class, and deeper analysis as well. What that typically means is that you can connect different ideas and come to some conclusion. You will also probably be required to read more.

These things shouldn’t "scare" you. If you’ve been put in the class, then you should do fine.

In the spanish class, some of the same from above — you’ll go through more info faster. You also might need to do more than in a regular Spanish class, such a project or something along those lines.

A lot really depends on the teachers.
