As many people of ethnicities other than those with western European roots became more affluent, many of them moved out of large cities and metropolises and moved into the suburban areas where those places used to be occupied mostly by Americans of western European decent. It would make sense for them to have a language school catering to the incoming minorities.
For example, in 1950s, Santa Clara County of California was mostly occupied by Americans of western European decent. But with the development of technology industry, it attracted immigrants from many different places, particularly Taiwan, China, and India. By 1990s, some towns had significant percentage of population as Asian Americans. For example, the Chinese of Taiwanese descent is prominent in Cupertino (home of Apple Computer) and Sunnyvale, the Koreans in Santa Clara City, the Vietnamese in San Jose, and Asian Indians in Fremont. Therefore, many private schools specializing in language learning, especially Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Hindi, and even Punjabi, have been established to keep their ancestors’ tongue alive.
Looking at this suggestion, I will agree with the first 2 people that schools for teaching at least a foreign language is not a bad idea.
