    There’s a mistake …
There’s a mistake in the video. When you say “IM SO SO” is not ASÍ ASÍ, (así-así has not sense in spanish).
The correct is: ESTOY MÁS O MENOS. It what people says. Ive never listened ASÍ ASÍ.

  • tontitofrito says:

    some accents …
some accents pronounce the ‘ll’ and or the ‘y’ like what we might perceive as an English ‘J’ or even a ’sh’

  • magodag says:

    In spanish “LL” …
In spanish “LL” always sounds like “J” sounds in english, also in spanish “LL” has the same sound of “Y”, you have to know the rules of when and where to use “LL” and “Y”.
It is like the “S”, “C”, or even “X”, these letters can be used with the same sound, but there are rules to know where and when tu use them.

  • moh459 says:

    Why sometimes the …
Why sometimes the double LL is pronounces like “J”, as in the song “la tortura” for Shakira, for example:
    Sigue llorando perdón
    sounds like Sigue jorando perdón

    thanks:-)

Both are right to say…but more often is ME LLAMO…it’s a shorter version and we use it more than the first one.
Also, you can say SOY…and your name..
SOY ALEX..or SOY SILVIA…and so on

  • tontitofrito says:

    Both can be used …
Both can be used properly. Some places might prefer one over another, but they’ll be understood regardless.

If you want to be formal (respectful) though, you’d ask:
“¿Cómo se llama?” or “¿Cuál es su nombre?”

Spanish is not our second language and it’s hard to practice it myself. Listening to someone who really know what he/shes saying is much better than just reading. Like the llamas. i heard a lot of people here saying como se llamas.. and mi nombre es or me llamo es… thanks you so much .

  • bobob0000 says:

    why does my spanish …
why does my spanish teacher sound like he is sayin “jamas” when he is sayin “llamas?”

    In Costa Rica and …
In Costa Rica and Nicaragua and probably in most Central American countries, we do not use the expression “así-así” which I think is a direct translation of the phrase “so-so” in English. Here, we say: “más o menos”, instead.
